Website Mission
My goal is to provide fun, realistic interior design ideas and advice that can be used by anyone.  This site will be updated monthly so people can use it like a magazine or informative guide.  The intention is to have something for everyone whether they are remodeling a kitchen, designing a bedroom, decorating a nursery, painting a wall, buying furniture, or just in need of some design inspiration.

Purpose

I am creating this website as my own outlet to inspire and offer advice and tips to those far beyond my daily reach.  I come across or learn so many great things and this is my way of sharing them with others.  Good design is available to everyone regardless of budget but it isn't easy to put it all together and get a satisfying result.  This where this website will help. Sometimes it just takes another opinion or a different approach.  This site is here to encourage people to create enjoyable interior surroundings and have fun in the process.

Who am I?

I am an Interior Designer.  I have lived all throughout the country, north, south, east and west.  My location is currently in the Midwest however I have worked on design projects in many areas of the country both commercially and residentially.

Before studying and working in design, I spent the first 10 years of my working life on Wall Street, as a stockbroker, options analyst, investigator and compliance officer.  This financial background allows me to be automatically mindful of costs and providing value.  But I work harder and longer hours now.  One has to think five steps ahead and understand how every decision impacts something else.  You can’t do this well if your only concern is does it look good.

One of my strengths is my ability to find unique and creative solutions with materials or products.  It is my job to come up with appropriate solutions that meet my client’s needs and this takes looking beyond the ordinary or expected.  My home is a design laboratory where I try out new things such as bamboo floors, fiber optic lighting, furniture, etc.  I design furniture; cabinetry and lighting for myself as well as clients because the right solution may not be what someone has seen before.  Not everyone wants to buy from a catalogue and sometimes what is readily available is too limiting.  I like getting out the pencil and paper, doing some research and creating something from scratch.

This philosophy also extends to how a room, home, or environment should look and perform.  I like to capture my client’s likes and dislikes and deliver original solutions that take the client beyond what they imagined but to where they would comfortably be if they had the product knowledge, experience and resources available to a designer.  A beautiful and inviting residential interior should be timeless and look collected, not like a showroom.  It should be an extension of the inhabitants and not look like I was even there.
