Myth Busting....

Custom is always more expensive.

Wrong!  Custom furniture often is better priced than what one can buy retail. Yes, there is a cost involved in having the ability to customize a piece whether by design, fabric selection, finish selection or material used.  In many cases custom furniture turns out to be more cost effective than buying only what is available.  Often custom can be handmade which also means you are most likely getting a higher quality product that is built to last rather than built to fill an order.  Custom rugs are another item that are often a better solution than what is available off the rack and when comparing like items they often are not more expensive.

Ceilings should be white.

Ceilings matter too.  Paint them, wallpaper them, texture them...do something with them!  A white ceiling can often look like the wall that has been forgotten.  If you walk into a room with four deep blue walls and the ceiling is white your eye will jump to the ceiling and you will probably feel strange.  This is because the ceiling was forgotten.  Your eye should not bounce from surface to surface, it should glide.
